At Brisbane Dive Academy we believe that our students are a direct reflection of their Instructors. For this reason we are introducing our revised PADI Divemaster course, starting in 2011. The PADI Divemaster program is the first in a long line of leadership level dive courses and we are again raising the bar on PADI's already high standards, this program will be imitated but will not be surpassed.

During our Divemaster program you will achieve not only the PADI Divemaster certification but you will also get three other PADI Certifications;

• PADI Deep Diver
• PADI Search and Recovery Diver
• PADI Dive Centre Employee

These three courses will allow you to move forward in your career as a PADI dive professional knowing how to dive Deep, use Search and Recovery techniques and what it takes to work in a PADI Dive Centre. In practical terms for those of you who are going on to become PADI Instructors you will be one step ahead of the game.

Our Divemaster course goes well beyond the PADI minimum standards. We don't just get you to run through a few scenarios and practice sessions, you'll be assisting an Instructor across the full range of PADI diver education and continuing education courses. And you won't just be doing it once, you will have a chance to participate in several courses to help your skills. This is ideal for Divemasters who will be going on to do their IDC.

All of this practice will not only make you a better Divemaster, but it will also make you more employable... imagine travelling anywhere you want to go in the world and working doing what you love.

What's new in the PADI Divemaster program for 2011?

In November 2010 PADI introduced changes to the Divemaster program making it a more complete course, students now have to complete Search and Recovery scenarios, Deep diver scenarios and more Divemaster conducted workshops than ever before.

Initially you will spend a very short time in the classroom after completing your PADI Divemaster and Dive Theory eLearning packages, following this you will be tested in the pool, developing your skills and stamina, taking you to the next level. Now you are ready to work with live students!

During the practical part of your course you will complete a number of practical exercises:

1. Dive site set up and management
2. Mapping project
3. Dive briefings
4. 5 Divemaster conducted program workshops
5. Minimum 1 full Open water diver course
6. Minimum 1 full PADI continuing education course
7. Minimum leading 1 dive for certified divers
8. PADI Deep diver speciality course
9. PADI Search and Recovery speciality course
10. PADI Dive Centre employee course
